Karan Aggarwal, a commerce and law student at Delhi Public School Chan[1]digarh, is a young entrepreneur with a strong commitment to social responsibility. From an early age, he recognized the significant challenges facing India, particularly in areas like poverty and infrastructure. His aware[1]ness of these issues, combined with a keen understanding of the gap between government policies and their implementation, inspired him to pursue meaningful change. Supported by a network of peers, teachers, and mentors, he channeled his entrepreneurial instincts into various initiatives and competitions, marking the start of a journey driven by ambition and social justice. His foray into entrepreneurship and activism began during his school years, where he actively participated in numerous competitions, including those hosted by institutions like BITS Pilani, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Bombay. These experiences sharpened his competitive spirit and provided a platform for his innovative ideas. He further enhanced his skills through internships with organizations such as WhiteHatJr and the Taare Zameen Foundation, gaining a deeper understanding of the tech and social sectors. In addition to his academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, Karan is also an accomplished musician. He earned a merit certification in Acoustic Guitar from Trinity College London, reflecting his dedication to personal growth and artistic expression. However, in 2023, Karan’s focus shifted towards public speaking, debate, and Model United Nations (MUNs). That year, he participated in more than ten MUNs as a delegate, gaining valuable insights into diplomacy and international relations. His expertise in these areas led to roles as an Executive Board Member in two MUNs and participation in two Parliamentary Debating Competitions (PDCs), where he articulated his ideas and advocated for causes close to his heart. In December 2023, Karan co-founded the International Debaters Club with his business partner, Durvish Khanduja. Their first major event, the International Debaters MUN 2023 (IDMUN 2023), was a significant success, attracting over 150 participants. The conference supported the UNHCR MUN Refugee Challenge 2023, underscoring the club’s commitment to global humanitarian issues. Despite the challenges that led to the cancellation of IDMUN 2024, Karan remained focused on making an impact. He attended a bootcamp at IIT Ropar in June 2024, where he worked on several business ideas and further honed his entrepreneurial skills. Karan also founded YoungStonks, although the startup eventually dissolved due to internal disputes. Undeterred, he went on to establish AskGov Square, an organization dedicated to promoting transparency in government. His dedication to social justice is evident in his creation of Bharat Vandana, an organization advocating for law reforms, and Phoenix, an initiative responding to sexual assault cases in India. Currently serving as the Vice President of the Grievance and Legal Literacy Cell at his school, he continues to pave the way for a future where entrepreneurial success is deeply connected to social responsibility.
