Dr. G. Lakshmipathy, born on August 15, 1962, in Pondicherry, hails from a humble background. Raised in an environment where community service was a family tradition, he was actively involved in charitable activities alongside his parents from a young age. His grandfather, a freedom fighter, instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and responsibility toward society. Over the years, this commitment to social causes became an integral part of Dr. Lakshmipathy’s life, influencing both his personal and professional journey.

His academic achievements are a testament to his dedication and discipline. He holds two undergraduate degrees, four postgraduate degrees, and three Ph.D. degrees. Additionally, he has completed 17 postgraduate diploma courses, reflecting his relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence. His career began as a Senior Branch Manager at the United India Insurance Company Ltd., where his leadership and managerial skills were honed. However, his true passion lay in community service, which led him to become the Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Pondicherry State, a role in which he continues to serve the community with unwavering commitment.

For over 36 years, He has been dedicated to various social and community work initiatives. He has made significant contributions to mother and child care, including constructing 23 breastfeeding rooms in primary health centers across Pondicherry. During the COVID-19 outbreak, he took decisive action to support the healthcare system by setting up 50 tents (Shamianas) for waiting patients at 50 primary health centers. He also organized nine blood donation camps, contributing to the blood bank of the Government Hospital in Pondicherry.

His dedication to public service was particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he distributed hygiene kits to marginalized groups, including roadside dwellers, factory workers, police personnel, bus passengers, vegetable vendors, gypsies, transgenders, tribals, and other vulnerable populations. In addition, he provided over 1,900 kitchen sets and tarpaulins to families affected by the pandemic, accidents, fires, and natural disasters such as cyclones. His humanitarian efforts extended to conducting first aid training for the Pondicherry Traffic Police and other police personnel, ensuring that they were equipped to handle emergencies.

His contributions have been widely recognized, with Dr. Lakshmipathy being featured in the book “Educator,” published by Kites Krafts Productions, New Delhi, and his achievements being highlighted by Best Citizen of India. He also received a citation for donating cadavers to medical colleges for educational purposes.
