Shri Martin Raju Pachimalla, an officer of the 1988 batch of Madhya Pradesh, hails from the temple city of Bhadrachalam, Kothagudem, Telangana. He completed his primary and secondary education at government schools in the villages of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He furthered his academic journey with an intermediate degree from S.K.V.T. He pursued his postgraduate studies in Zoology, earning an M.Sc. from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

During his basic training at Durgapur, West Bengal, he was awarded the prestigious “Best Cadet” trophy for excelling in outdoor training activities. His passion for education was evident early on, as he took a keen interest in teaching tribal students in the remote forest areas of Rampachodavaram, Maridemelli, East Godavari District, and Bhadrachalam, Khammam. His commitment to educating underprivileged children led him to engage in school teaching programs aimed at providing free education to those in need. He has served in various parts of India, including Tarn Taran, Punjab, Nakodar, Jullandhar in Punjab, Ram Janm Bhoomi in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, and several other locations across the country.

He joined the 141 Bn CRPF Headquarters in Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Andhra Pradesh (now in Telangana), stationed in an area affected by left-wing extremism. Under his leadership, the unit was deployed to tackle the Naxal-CPI (Maoist) movement in the region. The unit conducted several impactful programs to foster community engagement, including a Women’s Beautician Course for women, skill-building workshops, and various motivational programs aimed at empowering the local population. He and his team worked tirelessly to build trust between the local population and law enforcement, establishing numerous civic action programs (CAPs) that focused on the basic needs of the community.

His unit’s efforts were not limited to operational duties but also included social welfare initiatives. The establishment of the “New Light of Life Social Welfare Society” was a major step in addressing the needs of marginalized populations. Through this initiative, Shri Pachimalla spearheaded educational programs in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, and Bhadrachalam, Telangana, where people had to walk miles to access basic facilities like water. He facilitated the installation of water treatment plants in several locations, benefiting both schoolchildren and tribal communities. Additionally, sewing machines were distributed to widows affected by Naxal violence, and free medical camps were organized to serve the local population.

The unit also supported the education of girls by constructing toilets in three schools and distributing cycles to female students who traveled long distances. Mobile libraries were set up to help local youth prepare for competitive exams, and various sports articles were provided to schools in tribal areas to encourage physical activity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his team continued to serve the community through welfare programs and educational initiatives, demonstrating exceptional leadership and empathy.

His leadership extended to the training and empowerment of tribal youth, helping them prepare for recruitment in Central Paramilitary Forces. The unit renovated the ITDA Tribal Boys Hostel at Mothugudem, providing free recruitment training for tribal youth. Additionally, he has been actively involved in other welfare programs, including cleaning hospital campuses, distributing schoolbooks for mentally challenged children, and promoting environmental sustainability through tree plantation drives. His exemplary service in various states, including Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Assam, Orissa, Delhi, and Manipur, has earned him recognition for his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public service. His leadership and the achievements of his unit have set a benchmark for others in the field. In recognition of his outstanding service, he has been recommended for the Meritorious Service Medal for 2024-25, a testament to his devotion, leadership, and contribution to society. His unblemished service record and ability to inspire and guide his subordinates continue to serve as an example for his peers and juniors alike.
