Kamlesh Somani, known to many as Kamal Somani, has built a financial-services career spanning more than two decades across insurance, banking and mutual fund distribution. Based in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, he has focused on financial literacy and investor awareness, seeking to make financial concepts more accessible through practical communication.
Born in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, he began his professional career in 2002 with India Infoline. He subsequently gained experience across insurance and banking through leading organisations. His work across Rajasthan broadened his exposure to financial services.
His commitment to development is reflected in the qualifications he has pursued. He cleared the Licentiate Examination from the Insurance Institute of India and completed relevant NISM and insurance qualifications. He also holds Advanced Financial Goal Planning (AFGP®) and Certified Retirement Goal Planner (CRGP™) certifications. In 2008, he cleared the mutual fund certification examination.
In 2013, he began his independent professional practice and subsequently became an AMFI-Registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN-129707) in 2017. Over time, financial education became an important part of his professional identity. His emphasis has been on presenting financial concepts in straightforward, practical language for greater financial awareness and understanding.

In 2026, he received the Global Icon Award for “Excellence in Financial Literacy & Investor Awareness” at a ceremony in New Delhi. The honour was presented by Shri Salman Khurshid, former Union Minister of External Affairs and Senior Advocate.
Alongside his financial-services work, he has taken on the role of President of the Chittorgarh Chapter of Business Circle International (BCI), strengthening his engagement with business networking.
Looking ahead, he is preparing to explore opportunities within the GIFT City ecosystem, including NRI and international segments. He is also preparing for development in Specialised Investment Funds (SIF) and Portfolio Management Services (PMS), subject to applicable examinations, qualifications, registrations and regulatory requirements.
