Prof. Surabhi Verma currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. Her journey with Sanskrit began in school, but it evolved into a profound exploration of its wisdom during her higher studies, aligning with the lineage of Śāstra Paramparā. With a background in Modern Sciences, she adeptly deciphers Agamic and Tantrik concepts with a scientific approach. Her research interests revolve around topics like dreams, consciousness, and precognition.

During her doctoral studies, Prof. Verma delved into the mysteries of dreams and precognition within the framework of Indian Philosophy. Since joining NIT Rourkela in July 2015, she has been sharing her knowledge of Indian Sciences with engineering students. She has contributed significantly to a project sponsored by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi, focusing on the relationship between consciousness, spiritual intelligence, and Kashmir Saivism.

Her exploration of consciousness through Āgama and Tantra Śāstra has provided her with insights into various psychological phenomena. Prof. Verma’s teachings draw from the esoteric and mystical aspects of Tantra, shedding light on concepts like time travel. She has published 13 papers, completed a sponsored project, and supervised a doctoral student. Her book titled “Precognitive Dreams in Kashmir Saivism” by D K Print World Pvt Ltd., New Delhi, reflects her scholarly contributions.

Prof. Verma maintains a personal website where she shares her interests and projects through blogging. Her current research endeavors include investigating Indian Psychology through the lens of the Agamika text “Cittanubodhasastram” and contributing to the PG Diploma Program of IGNOU, New Delhi.

She has authored a book titled “Bharatiya Darsana mein Kashmir ka Yogadana” in Hindi, which is accepted for publication. Prof. Verma is committed to disseminating Indian knowledge across different domains, evident in her efforts to record lectures for A N Khosla Centre for Technology Enabled Learning (ANKCTEL) at NIT Rourkela, Odisha.

Prof. Verma advocates for an upgraded Indian Education System rooted in the Indian Knowledge Tradition. She emphasizes personalized teaching based on students’ natural inclinations and curiosity, with the aim of nurturing human resources with a humane approach. Her vision for education extends beyond mechanical programming to shaping individuals equipped to contribute meaningfully to society and the world.
