Er. Sudhir Kumar Sahu, currently serving as Additional Chief Engineer at the Hirakud Dam Circle, Burla, Odisha, stands as a rare example of an individual who has excelled equally in engineering and literature. Born on October 9th, 1965, he has devoted more than three decades to the Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, while simultaneously building a global reputation as an accomplished author. A graduate in Civil Engineering from the the erstwhile College of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar (1988), now OUTR; he further pursued an M.Tech in Structure from Karnataka State Open University in 2014. His journey in public service began in 1994 as an Assistant Engineer, and over the years, he rose through various senior roles. Today, he holds the significant position of Additional Chief Engineer at the Iconic Hirakud Dam, the world’s longest earthen dam and one of India’s most vital water resource infrastructures. His work has been central to the design, execution, and maintenance of key irrigation and water resource projects across Odisha.

While his professional contributions to engineering are immense, his literary accomplishments are equally noteworthy. He has authored 23 books published on Amazon, spanning two distinct yet impactful genres: mythology and stock market education. His mythological works, including The Portfolio of Mythological Events and The Portfolio of National & International Events, delve into cultural narratives with fresh perspectives. He holds lifetime or fellow memberships with reputed institutions such as the Indian Water Resources Society, Indian Asssociation of Hydrologists and life member of Indian Concrete Institute, Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Society of Remote Sensing, and the International Association for Small Hydro etc. These affiliations highlight his continuous engagement with contemporary developments in engineering and water resource management.

The recognition he has received over the years underscores his dual impact in both engineering and finance. His honors include the Rashtriya Gaurav Samman (2024), Kalinga Gaurav Samman (2025), Amar Utsav Felicitation (2024), International Icon Award (2025), and International Grandeur Award, his achievements gained further prominence with three significant awards: the Desh Ratna Award at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi; the Global Apex Award at Hyatt Hotel; and the Bharat Pratibha Samman Award in 2025, all of which affirmed his national and international stature. He is also selected for Asia International Award for “Asia’s Best Writer in Stock Market” to be conferred on 6th Jan2026 at Kochi.
