journey is a testament to resilience, dedication, and transformative leadership. Born in Varanasi to Subrata and Gita Roy, she faced the profound loss of her mother at the tender age of two. Yet, the unwavering support and affection from her maternal aunt, Anjali Roy, ensured she never felt the void of a mother’s love. This nurturing environment imbued her with values and a drive to uplift others.

Her  academic journey began at Loreto Convent, Ranchi, and she fulfilled her father’s dream by graduating from Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata, in 1995. She then achieved her Master’s degree from the University of Calcutta in 1997, securing top marks. Her early aspirations of empowering economically disadvantaged girls through education began to take shape as she diligently worked towards creating a lasting impact.

Starting her career in 1998 as a part-time teacher in the Department of Philosophy at Shri Shikshayatan College, Kolkata, she  quickly distinguished herself by clearing the National Eligibility Test and receiving the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship Award from the University Grants Commission. She pursued her doctoral studies at Jadavpur University under the guidance of Dr. Chhanda Gupta, specializing in Epistemology and Metaphysics.

In 2001, she  joined Prabhu Jagatbandhu College in Howrah as an Assistant Professor in Philosophy, where she found her true calling—empowering women from economically backward sections. Through counseling and community outreach, she inspired countless students to achieve academic and professional success, transforming lives and fostering a new generation of empowered women.

Her dedication to education extended beyond traditional classrooms. As the Coordinator of the Study Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University, she championed the cause of education for those unable to pursue regular schooling. Her relentless efforts in this role have touched the lives of many, providing them with opportunities to realize their dreams.

Recognizing the critical link between mental health and empowerment, she  pursued counseling courses from the National Health Care Academy (NHCA) in Singapore. Equipped with these skills, she began offering psychological counseling, profoundly impacting the mental well-being of those she mentored. Today, as a mentor and Course Director at NHCA, she continues to influence and support mental health initiatives.

Her  contributions extend to academia through her numerous publications and research projects. She has guided several PhD students and delivered impactful lectures internationally, such as her recent address on women’s socio-economic status in Bangladesh.

Throughout her illustrious career, she has consistently demonstrated her passion for women’s empowerment and education. Her leadership philosophy—‘marching ahead with all and for all’—has redefined leadership, inspiring those around her to achieve collective success. Her faith in a supreme power fuels her relentless pursuit of excellence, making her a true leader and visionary.

Her  life is a beacon of inspiration, illustrating how one individual’s dedication and compassion can drive meaningful change and uplift countless lives.
