Dr. Suresh Kanna. S., an Associate Professor of Medicine and Consultant Physician & Diabetologist, possesses a diverse range of interests encompassing Diabetology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Infectious diseases, and Lifestyle diseases. He finds fulfillment in serving as an efficient physician, rather than narrowing down to any specific superspecialty branches.

He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Thrissur, and MD from Government Stanley Medical College, Chennai, in 2016. Since then, he has been associated with Sree Balaji Medical College, where he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Presently serving as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, he also holds the roles of Registrar and Academic Coordinator within the department.

His academic contributions extend to over 50 publications in various National & International journals, covering rare case reports and original research articles. Additionally, he has authored more than 8 monographs on various topics in General Medicine and has served as an examiner for AHS, BDS, and MBBS courses across multiple universities in South India.

He is an active member of professional organizations such as API (Association of Physicians of India), ACP (American College of Physicians), and RSSDI (Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India). In 2021, he contested for the post of Early Career Physician in the ACP India chapter elections. Notably, he co-authored a chapter on Hyperuricemia in the prestigious API Update Book 2023.

Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, he has completed various additional certificate and fellowship courses, including CCGDM (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus), CCEBDM (Evidence-based Diabetes Mellitus), CCMH (Hypertension), CCIID (Infectious Diseases), CCML (Medicine & Law), CCOM (Obesity), and CCAFS (Acute Fever Syndromes). In 2021, he received a PG Diploma in Advanced Cardiology & ECG accredited by the RCP (Royal College of Physicians) – UK.
