Dr. Loveneet Kaur is the Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Botany and Environment Science at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. With an academic career spanning over 18 years, she has made significant contributions to both education and research in her field. Her current responsibilities include teaching B.Sc. and M.Sc. classes, overseeing departmental activities as the head, coordinating the department for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and being an active member of the Training and Placement Cell at the college.

Her academic qualifications are extensive. She holds an M.Sc. in Botany with a specialization in Crop Genetics and Plant Breeding, a B.Ed., an M.Phil. in Botany, and a Ph.D. in Botany. Her dedication to her field is evidenced by her receipt of a research fellowship from Punjabi University, Patiala, in March 2009. Additionally, she is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Board of Studies at S.G.T.B. Khalsa College, Anandpur Sahib, the Punjab Science Congress, the Indian Association of Biology Teachers, and the Botanical Society of Punjabi University Patiala.

She started her career at Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, Anandpur Sahib, where she dedicatedly taught Botanyto the rural students coming from villages near Anandpur Sahib. One of her students, Manjot Kaur, inspite of being from a rural background, topped university examination under her guidance after competing with students from various cities and towns. Similarly, Giddha team of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, Anandpur Sahib won First position for two consecutive years in zonal youth festival under her guidance. She is a good orator and acted as masters of ceremonies in various events like convocation, zonal youth festival as well as international kabaddi competition organized by the college.

She then joined Mata Gujri College in 2010, where she has played a pivotal role in curriculum development and academic administration. She introduced the B.Sc. Honours School in Botany at Mata Gujri College during the 2013-14 session, followed by the B.Sc. Honours in Botany in the 2015-16 session and the M.Sc. in Botany in the 2016-17 session. In addition, she is the founder head of Department of agriculture at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. She initiated the department with B. Sc. Hons. Agriculture in 2012-13 session and further stared M. Sc. Agriculture in 2014-15. As the Chairperson of the Board of Studies, she has been instrumental in designing syllabi for various botany courses, ensuring that the curriculum remains current and comprehensive.

Her research contributions are noteworthy, with numerous papers published in reputed journals. Some of her significant works include studies on the ethnobotanical properties and pharmacological uses of fig, the medicinal uses of black cardamom and Aloe vera, and the cardioprotective properties of traditional herbs like garlic, ginger, and onion. Her research has been published in SCOPUS Indexed and UGC-CARE Listed journals, highlighting the impact of her work on the scientific community. She has also presented her research at various national and international conferences. Notable presentations include studies on post-harvest qualities of tuberose, genetic diversity among tuberose cultivars, and the use of different elicitors to enhance the vase life of tuberose flowers. Her work in these areas demonstrates her commitment to advancing botanical sciences and her expertise in plant breeding and genetics.

She has also contributed to the academic community through her involvement in university examinations, including setting question papers, evaluating answer scripts, and serving as an invigilator and practical examiner.
