During her first year of college, she embarked on a new chapter in her life by getting married and becoming a mother to a son. Driven by her innate desire to make a meaningful impact in the field of education, Dr. Umamaheswari enrolled in Lady Willingdon Institute of Advanced Study in Education to pursue a Bachelor of Education degree. Armed with a strong educational foundation and a deep sense of purpose, she joined Aringnar Anna Middle School as a BT assistant, thus returning to her alma mater to impart knowledge to the next generation.

Fuelled by her passion for teaching and a desire to innovate, she pursued higher studies, eventually earning a Master of Philosophy degree from Alagappa University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Dravidian University. Her research focused on exploring new methodologies and pedagogical approaches to enhance the learning experience of students, particularly in the realm of special education.

Throughout her career, Dr. Umamaheswari has been a staunch advocate for inclusive education and equal opportunities for all. She firmly believes that every child, regardless of their background or abilities, deserves access to quality education.
