B L Batra, born on January 30, 1961, in Ghaziabad, is a distinguished advocate, social reformer, writer, and singer. With a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree, he has been practicing law since 1985, earning respect within the legal community for his dedication and expertise. Beyond his legal career, he  is also a creative force in the arts. He published a collection of Hindi geet and ghazals titled “Pathik” in 2010, followed by “Kissey Kahani Kirdar,” a compilation of Hindi prose and poems, in 2022. His musical pursuits include the release of his first audio CD and video song album, “Ye Jo Mohhabat Hai,” in 2015 through Veenus Company, Mumbai. He has since launched various video albums on his YouTube channel, AMITRA, including “Kissey Kahani Kirdar” and “Kuchh Khas Khas,” and has collaborated with renowned singers like Pamela Jain, Alka Yagnik, and Javed Ali.

His  talents extend to film production and direction. His production house, A Vidhya KR Productions, has released award-winning short and feature films. His short film “Pagli” received several accolades in 2021, including Best Story Film Award at the Pune International Film Festival, Excellent Film Award at the Jharkhand Film Festival, Best Film Award at the Karnataka Kalaburagi Film Festival, and Excellent Film Award at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival. Another notable project, “Boot Polish,” featured children from Uttar Pradesh government primary schools and was nominated for the Cine Tube Film Festival in Calcutta and the Santadev Film Festival in Tamil Nadu.

His  commitment to social causes is evident through his roles in various organizations. He serves as the President of the Western U.P. Taxation Bar Association, President of the Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad in Ghaziabad, and Trustee of People for Animals, Ghaziabad. He is also a member of the Cine Writers Association and the Western India Film Producer Association in Mumbai. As the National President of AMITRA Foundations, he  leads initiatives to improve primary education and child welfare in Uttar Pradesh. The foundation adopts primary schools, promotes education, organizes study camps, and encourages extracurricular activities. It also provided food to the needy for over 18 months during the COVID-19 pandemic and established badminton courts in Ghaziabad, offering free coaching and sports equipment to aspiring players.

He  also manages AMITRA Theatre, a 100-seat venue dedicated to extracurricular education and cultural activities for students. His multifaceted contributions as an advocate, social reformer, writer, singer, director, actor, and producer reflect his dedication to justice, creativity, and community service, inspiring and positively impacting society.
