Mr. Narahari Vishnu Kadekar, born on March 5th, 1954, in the small village of Alatwadi, Pattankodoli, Kolhapur district, emerged from humble beginnings into a stalwart in the fields of tax consultancy and sports. His career path, driven by a profound sense of duty and a gentle heart, exemplifies his commitment to sharing essential knowledge in indirect tax compliance, particularly in Central Excise, Customs, and Goods and Services Taxes (GST).

Having faced financial challenges early in life, he moved to Pune in 1974 under the guidance of his uncle, Mr. Narayan Mahadev Pujari. He secured his first job at Thakur Saodekar and Company Limited, where he embarked on his journey in the corporate world while pursuing his education externally, ultimately completing his graduation. Over the next 25 years, he gained invaluable experience working across various companies, realizing the critical need for grassroots-level guidance in indirect tax compliance, particularly concerning declarations related to raw materials and finished goods transactions.

Driven by a desire to bridge this gap, he  ventured into consultancy, imparting his expertise to clients and delivering lectures on indirect taxes. With the advent of the IT era in the early 2000s, he extended his consultancy services to major IT firms in Pune, including HSBC Software Development, Tata Consultancy Services, and Honeywell Automation, among others. He further enriched his professional journey by collaborating with renowned firms such as E&Y and PwC.

In 2012, he  fulfilled a lifelong dream by completing his MBA from the University of Bolton in London, UK, where he also indulged his passion for lawn tennis as a member of the British Tennis Association. He participated in tennis tournaments at the David Lloyd Club in the UK and continued his athletic pursuits in India, competing in over 20 tournaments organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) worldwide. Remarkably, he has completed over 70 marathons of 10kms, showcasing his enduring commitment to fitness and sportsmanship.

Throughout his illustrious career, he  has been honored with numerous awards, including the International Excellence Award and the Udyog Ratna Sanman in 2023, and the Pune Udyog Ratna Puraskar. In September 2023, his contributions were recognized with an honorary doctorate from California University in Finance and Taxation, underscoring his dedication and expertise in the field.

His  “Chase your dreams,” encapsulates his philosophy of life, blending professional excellence with a passion for sports and fitness. At the age of 70, he continues to participate actively in tennis tournaments and marathons, inspiring others with his energy and dedication. As he looks forward to the future, he  remains committed to his work, sports, and promoting a culture of diligence and aspiration.
