Dr. Ruru Kumar Mohapatra is a distinguished scholar in Sanskrit, holding a Ph.D. in Puranetihas and having qualified the NET examination. He has been serving as a contractual Assistant Professor and guest faculty in the Puranetihas department of Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati, since the 2006 academic year.

He  has actively contributed to the field of Sanskrit through participation and presentations in the World Sanskrit Conference and over thirty national seminars and workshops. He has successfully completed two UGC Refresher Courses, earning the highest grades in both. His dedication extends beyond teaching, as he has been an integral member of various academic and cultural committees within the university. Additionally, he has coordinated national seminars on Puranas at Rashtriya Sanskrit University and conducted Spoken Sanskrit Camps in various locations across Odisha.

Throughout his academic journey, he has been recognized for his exceptional skills in debates, recitations, and the composition of Shlokas. He has also won numerous prizes in college quizzes. During his school days, he was honored with All-Round Best prizes, showcasing his versatility and excellence. Moreover, he is a proficient sportsman, excelling in chess and table tennis.

He  has made significant contributions to Sanskrit literature. He edited the International Sanskrit Journal “Vishva Bhasha” for a period and has published four Sanskrit books. His Sanskrit stories, poems, and articles have been featured in various esteemed Sanskrit journals, with many more currently under publication.

In addition to his scholarly work, he  is a prominent lyricist of Sanskrit songs, having translated over 105 Hindi film songs into Sanskrit. He has been awarded the DD News Sanskrit Vartavali’s Gitanuvada Spardha Vijeta nine times for his exceptional contributions to Sanskrit music and song translation.

His  career is marked by his unwavering dedication to the advancement of Sanskrit. His extensive academic contributions, combined with his active participation in seminars, workshops, and cultural activities, reflect his commitment to the field. His work as an editor, author, and lyricist further underscores his multifaceted talents and his influence in promoting Sanskrit language and literature.
